I have always been active, from ½ Ironman’s, long distance cycling, weightlifting and marathons, I always thought I was fit. Until I found CrossFit. I found myself humbled at CrossFit Eastside. So humbled, that I had to go back! The coaches at CrossFit Eastside, Michael Street and Carrie Klumpar, are the most inspiring coaches. I have been there for almost 3 years now and still am humbled each time I go! But I love it.

I want other people to feel the true joy I feel when I complete something I never thought I could. Life isn’t easy, neither should your work outs be. And it shouldn’t take you hours and hours at the gym. Get in, get out. Our lives are busy enough.

I enjoy training and teaching people, who then in turn go out and pass it on to other people. I am a firm believer that we need to gain knowledge and then pass it on. That’s the best part of being a CrossFit trainer; we are a community of “pass the knowledge”.

We want everyone who comes into Sno Valley CrossFit to feel that “community”. We are fortunate to live in the area we do and Sno Valley CrossFit reflects that community feel. We deliver an inspiring place for camaraderie, friendship and competition. It will be the hardest work out you have ever completed and you’ll be back for more!

I am Carlos Cruz, 26 years old from Orlando, Fl, where my mom and dad still live.
I am a Sgt in the United States Army where I am currently stationed at Ft. Lewis , WA. Next year I will be attending Occupational therapy tech school which will hopefully increase my physical science background.
I found out about Crossfit about year and a half ago. On my arrival to the northwest I finally started to go to my own box where I currently switch between Rainier Crossfit and Eastside S&C. Come April I will be level 1 certified along with having the basic barbell and gymnastics certs under my belt. I have thoroughly enjoyed training crossfiters and soldiers alike and will continue to do so and learn as much as I can at the same time.

I grew up being active in sports and play and always tried to incorporate some type of fitness into my life. Once out of high school, without the formality of team sports, I had to come up with my own workouts to stay relatively “in shape.” After a particularly challenging pregnancy, I struggled to find something that I could maintain and enjoy. I was bored going to the gym by myself and I finally went to a personal trainer. I loved learning from her and really enjoyed the camaraderie. However, I couldn’t keep paying for one-on-one sessions for long. Then my trainer introduced me to CrossFit. That was over 3 years ago and I have loved it. Working out with others, the variety of training, and the challenges are all things that I enjoy. I am stronger now than I have ever been, can jump higher, and run faster. Plus I show no signs of the diabetes that reared its head while I was pregnant. One of the biggest things that CrossFit has taught me is that that little voice in my head that says I can’t do something is almost always wrong. As a CrossFit trainer, I love having the opportunity to teach others not to listen to that voice either and watching them accomplish things they never expected.

Tess Linder

For me, CrossFit began with a New Year’s Resolution. I resolved to do one thing a day that scared me. CrossFit scared me. I went anyway. I was hooked.

I’m constantly amazed at the positive changes I see in myself and others. I love to see people come in and find their strength and endurance they didn’t realize they had, and didn’t think they were capable of.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in fitness and a healthy lifestyle. During my college years, I worked as a trainer in a local gym, and worked with the Weber State University football and basketball teams as a student-trainer. In addition to CrossFit, I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, biking, kickboxing, and chasing my kids.

I am certified as a Level One CrossFit Trainer.
